Nothing is more important than a comfortable, fun and stress walk for both you and your fury best friend. An a top quality padded dog harness can make a world of difference to how your dog behave’s on the leash.

With so many harnesses on the market though, it can be difficult to know which ones are worth looking at. Lucky, we get to interact with lots of dog owners and find out what sort of padded harnesses they’re using, and what they do and don’t like about them.

What to look for in a padded dog harness.

We look for the following qualities in any harness for a dog:

• Design. It’s got to be well designed to ensure a good fit.
• Quality. You harness is no good if it breaks first time your dog pulls on it! It needs to be made of a nice thick webbing or leather, great stitching and sturdy buckles
• Plenty of Padding! It’s all about comfort for your loved one, so make sure there is a nice, thick layer of soft padding to make their walk a pleasant experience

Retailing from  just $12.29 on Amazon, this harness ticks all the boxes in terms of manufacturing quality and comfort. It comes in a great range of 12 different colors and sized from XS to 2XL, there’s one to suit every dog.

#5 Padded Dog Harness: Kurgo Tru-Fit Smart Dog Harness

 

Kurgo are renowned for quality dog products, and the Tru-Fit harness is no exception. This padded harness is idea for both walking and as a safely harness for travel in the car. The sturdy design features a nicely padded chest area, with a fully adjustable neck and chest strap to ensure a great fit all round.

There are sturdy, quick release buckles for easy fitting, and comes with a short 10″ lead idea for use in the car. Definitely worth a look, and plenty of stock is available on Amazon.

#4 Padded Dog Harness: OxGord Pet Control Harness

The OxGord makes the list due to its amazing value for money. Virtually identical to the Puppia harness, we suspect it probably comes out of the same factory, with a very similar fixed-size neck design, and solid 100% polyester construction, but retailing from just $5.95 for the Small up to $7.95 for the Extra Large.

Loads of padding and a great, sturdy quick release buckle round off this basic but effective padded dog harness. The only problem is due to the low price, it can be hard to find! Amazon is your best bet, so have a look and see if you can get lucky!

#3 Padded Dog Harness: Pet Vehicle Safety Harness

This one is a ‘no name brand’ padded harness off of Amazon, but we know a few people using this and swear by it.  There’s almost 1000 reviews for it on Amazon too, so people like it!

And it looks like they have good reason. It has super thick padding with breathable mesh, heavy duty stitching and lots of room for adjustment on both the chest and neck straps. Don’t be surprised if you see this same harness for triple the price with a name brand on it! Sized from Small to Extra Large, and comes in black, black or black  Well worth a look.

#2 Padded Dog Harness: HDP Big Dog Soft No Pull Harness

With these last two, the price is going to jump a bit, but you absolutely get what you pay for and both of these are exceptional. It was hard to pick which one to put as #1. After much debating, The HDP Big Dog Soft No Pull Harness came in at #2. It features super thick adjustable webbing around the chest and neck (although we would like to have seen a bit of padding here too). The back area has loads of padding and a solid grab handle, ideal for big dogs if you need to control them quickly.

Huge, solid buckles, easy adjustment, and a big reflective strip for safer walking at night. Highly recommended, so seriously consider putting this one on your shopping list

#1 Padded Dog Harness: Ruffwear Front Range Harness

Which brings us to the #1 Padded Dog Harness on our list, the exceptional Ruffwear Front Range Harness. We love this harness, and with very good reason. It’s rock solid! It’s super padded. It’s amazing quality. And it’s super stylish too.

Lots of colors, light weight, sized from XXS through to XXL, lots of reflective bits, sturdy buckles, breathable mesh, the list goes on… It’s just too cool, so definitely check it out.
